My apologies for the delinquency of our newsletter. Get to the Core has had such an exciting past several months, that we have not taken the proper time to reach out to our friends. I will summarize some of the highlights for those who have not been in to visit recently…
Get to the Core provided the physical therapy services and Pilates training for the traveling Broadway show “Wicked” when they were here in Ft. Lauderdale in February. This high energy and very talented group of young people managed to keep us busy for a few weeks due to the high demands of their work.
Cipactli “CC” Gonzalez, our office manager, just finished her first year at Get to the Core. In this period of time, she has certainly left an imprint that many have noticed: a pleasant experience when you speak to her on the phone, and a smile and attendance to your needs when you are in the office. For me, she is not only my “right-hand woman”, but an important contributor to continually improve our operations.
Mary Stancu-Chavez a licensed physical therapist, came on board with us in December 2005. She received her Bachelors of Arts from State University of New York at Stony Brook in 1998, and her Masters in Physical Therapy from Nova Southeastern University in 2003. We are not only enjoying her uplifting presence, but also her strong expertise in orthopaedics and neurology.
On a sad note, Ft. Lauderdale lost a good friend, David Stockwell, on January 11, 2006. He was one of the first patients I treated at Get to the Core, and certainly one of the most memorable. Dave took such a genuine interest in helping my practice thrive and would often sit with me, review my books, and offer valuable advice. Long after he graduated from therapy he would still visit, and I always felt he kept a watchful eye over me. When I went to his memorial service, I was not at all amazed that in attendance were many other of his friends that he had taken under his wing, and helped them both professionally and personally. I will always remember his “smiling” eyes always full of mischief, remarkable sense of humor, and his benevolence.
Thanks again to all who have continued to let us help you.
