Get to the Core (GTC): How did you first become interested in Ballroom Dance?
Danny: When I was in high school, I loved watching the Lawrence Welk Show. I told my parents that one day, I would dance just like Bobby and Sissy. I was heavy, and very shy. When I started studying ballroom it improved my physique and did wonders for my social skills.
Get to the Core (GTC): What kind of training have you had?
Danny: I studied at the Fred Astaire Studio in 1982. Six month later, I began competing as a professional ballroom dancer. I also studied music at Triveca College in Tennessee.
Get to the Core (GTC): What do you enjoy most about Ballroom Dancing?
Danny: Sharing a moment with another person in time and space.
Get to the Core (GTC): What are you doing now?
Danny: I am still competing at a professional level. I also have a love for teaching ballroom to not only professionals, but to other populations.
